How to Get a Good Car Auto Insurance Deal at Renewal Time

If it's that time of year again when the clock is ticking down on your car insurance, you may be dreading finding out what the increase in cost is going to be. Unfortunately, a car is a necessity for most of us (for reasons of work, and even just getting around on a day-to-day basis), and it's a luxury that many others are not willing to give up. So how can you get a good deal on your cover at renewal time?

It doesn't have to be the case that car insurance will cost you an absolute fortune; there are many ways you could bring it down to a respectable and affordable level.

1. Be ready to switch. ( Auto car honda)
A lot of people feel that they have some responsibility of loyalty to an insurance provider, especially if they haven't had any real problems in dealing with them over the past year. However, this isn't necessarily the best way to save money or the best possible way of dealing with the renewal of your quote. If you feel as though you could get a better deal elsewhere, you should maybe try switching. This way, you're opened up to introductory offers that could reduce your premiums substantially for the first year, after which you're free to switch again.

2. Buy online. ( Auto car honda)
Many companies are willing to offer you a discount for purchasing your car insurance online, rather than over the phone. This allows them to cut down on the number of call centres they have to staff, reducing their outgoings - a saving that many of them are happy to pass on (at least in part) to their customers. This can often be as high as 10%, and so it's often a great place to check out if you're looking at switching (although it's usually the case that you can get the same discount for renewing your insurance online as well, and not just by switching to a company as an introductory offer).

3. Consider specialist providers. ( Auto car honda)
Many insurance companies are designed to cater to specific, lower-risk groups of people, such as women drivers, or over 50's drivers. If you are in one of these categories, you could end up saving a considerable amount of money;

4. Don't take the first offer that comes along. ( Auto car honda)
There are literally dozens of car insurance providers in the UK, and so it's unlikely that you'll get the best offer from the first company you call or whose website you visit. You owe it to yourself to shop around for the right deal.

Using a car insurance comparison website can give you access to many, many providers, allowing you to look through what is available. That way you'll hopefully get a decent estimate of what you can expect to be paying and get a much better sense of what really is a good offer.
